Several 4-arylidenimino-2-cyanoethyl-1,2,4-triazol-3(2H)-ones, their 3(2H)-thiones and 2-glucosyl-1,2,4-triazol-3(2H)-thiones (1–12) were synthesized. Selective pyrolytic deprotection of these derivatives was studied in the gas phase and the kinetics of the reactions were measured for each compound.
