From thermal reactions of Ru3(CO)12 with senecialdimine, (CH3)2CCHCHNR (R = iPr (a), t-Bu (b)), in refluxing heptanes the following complexes have been isolated and characterised: Ru2(CO)6[(CH3)2C(H)CC(H)NR] (2a,b), Ru2(CO)6[C(H)C(CH3)C(H)C(H)MR] (3a,b), [HRu6(CO)18][2-(C(H)CCH3)2}-4-CH3-C5H3N] (4a), HRu3(CO)9[(CH3),C(H)CH2CNR] (5a), and Ru2(CO)6[C(H)C(CH3)C(H)CN(H)R] (6b).
