Abstract A new pregnaneester tetraglycoside designated as dregealin of a new genin named as dregenin was isolated from the dried roots of Dregea lanceolata. Chemical and spectroscopic evidences were consistent with the structure 11-O-acetyl-marsdenin-3-O-[O-α- l -diginopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-O-β- l -diginopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-O-β- d -cymaropyranosyl-(1 → 4)]-β- d -oleandropyranoside for dregealin.
