Increasing remote cationic charge on the thiazinedye chromophore greatly suppresses groundstate aggregation in water, increases the rate constants for intersystem crossing and quenching of the triplet state (T1) by FeII, and the fraction of T1 reduced by FeII, but does not affect the self-quenching of T1 by the groundstate.
