A potent small-molecule inhibitor of Arabidopsis thaliana 14-3-3 proteins has been developed. The inhibitor displayed isoform selectivity through covalent and allosteric inhibitory action. Inhibitor-driven stomatal closing on Arabidopsis leaves was also investigated. This inhibitor provides new insight into the modulation of 14-3-3-related signaling pathways and the application to plant growth regulation
