Holstein dairy cow was fed by catheter 5 ppm of Banvel-D (2-methoxy-3,6-dichlorobenzoic acid) for 4 days based on 22.7 kg daily feed ration. ...No residues were detected in either the milk or the feces; during the first 4 days of the feeding trial, only traces (not quantitatively measurable) were found of Banvel-D in the feces. The urine accounted for 73% of the excretion of the intact herbicide. From day 2 through day 7, the urinary concentrations were 3.4, 4.6, 4.3, 4.2, 4.1 and 0.1 ppm, respectively.

Ingestions of these herbicides are likely to be followed by vomiting and diarrhea due to the irritant properties. ... Activated charcoal is probably effective in limiting irritant effects and reducing absorption of most or all of these herbicides. Aluminum hydroxide antacids may be useful in neutralizing the irritant actions of mose acidic agents. Sorbitol should be given to induce catharsis if bowel sounds are present and if spontaneous diarrhea has not already commenced. Dehydration and electrolyte disturbances may be severe enough to require intravenous fluids. There are no specific antidotes for poisoning by these herbicides. /Other Herbicides/

Follow this with oral nutrients as soon as fluids can be retained. Fluids serve to support excretion of the toxicants. Dicamba is readily absorbed following ingestion, but only minimal absorption occurs after dermal exposure. Following ingestion, dicamba appears to be rapidly and nonselectively distributed to most organ systems. Most animal studies indicate greater than 90 % of the original dose ultimately undergoes urinary excretion. Small amounts of dicamba are excreted in the feces and have been shown to represent true elimination (indicated after sc administration ) and excretion of unabsorbed herbicide (following oral exposure). ...     The invention provides a herbicidal composition comprising a mixture of: (a) a first herbicide being a synthetic auxin herbicide (e.g. dicamba, MCPA or 2,4-D) or an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor herbicide (e.g. triasulfuron, tribenuron-methyl, iodosulfuron-methyl, mesosulfuron-methyl, sulfosulfuron, flupyrsulfuron-methyl, or pyroxsulam); wherein the first herbicide is present in the form of an aluminium salt; wherein the first herbicide is sufficiently acidic, when in a salt-free form, to allow the formation of an aluminium salt thereof; and wherein the first herbicide, when in a salt-free form or when in a non-aluminium salt form, antagonises the herbicidal activity of pinoxaden; and (b) pinoxaden. A further aspect of the invention also provides a method of reducing the antagonistic effect on the control of monocotyledonous weeds in non-oat cereals which is shown by a herbicidal mixture of either a synthetic auxin herbicide with pinoxaden or an ALS inhibitor herbicide with pinoxaden, which comprises applying a herbicidal composition according to the invention. The presence of the first herbicide in the form of an aluminium salt is thought to mitigate the antagonism of the grass-weed-herbicidal activity of pinoxaden which might otherwise occur.

    The post-emergent control of a broad spectrum of pests is accomplished by the post-emergent application of a pesticidally effective amount of a formulation comprised of at least one post-emergent, foliar absorbed, substantially water insoluble active ingredient dispersed in at least one substantially water miscible polar/nonpolar solvent which has a vapor pressure of not more than 760 mm of Hg at 20°C capable of dissolving a plant cuticle, including the cuticular wax, and, optionally a surface active agent which substantially prevents the active ingredient from precipitating upon dilution of the formulation with water. The formulation is initially applied to the surface of the foliage and is subsequently incorporated therein by the dissolution of the waxy layer of the foliage by the polar/nonpolar solvent.
