HA2, H2L1-H2L3, and their Co(II), Mn(III) and Ru(III) complexes, have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, spectroscopic, conductance, magnetic moment, and electrochemical studies. The oxidation of benzylic alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds is described. In the case of some primary benzyl alcohols, high conversions were obtained.
