    Bis(2-pyridinethiol 1-oxide) copper salt which has been coated with one or more members selected among glycerol, dialkyl phthalates, lubricating oils, acrylic resins, rosins, fatty acid amides, dialkylpolysulfides, polybutene, paraffins, and vaseline. Since the the coated copper salt does not fly off, it has good handleability and is excellent in safety and workability. The coating does not adversely influence the storage stability and antifouling effect inherent in the copper salt. Thus, a ship bottom paint having an excellent antifouling effect and excellent storage stability can be obtained.

    A polymer containing a triphenylboron-containing constituting unit of the formula [I]: wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, shows a superior adhesion-preventive effect against aquatic fouling organisms, such as coelenterates, shellfish, tubicolous polychaetes and the like, for a long time, shows a function of not only an active ingredient but also a binder, the polymer characteristically shows fine miscibility with other coating resins and a less adverse influence on the environment. Therefore, it can be used as a superior preventive of fouling due to the adhesion of aquatic fouling organisms.

    The present invention provides a bis(2-pyridinethiol-1-oxide) copper salt coated with one or more compounds selected from glycerin, dialkyl phthalate, lubricating oil, acrylic resin, rosin, fatty acid amide, dialkyl polysulfide, polybutene, paraffin and petrolatum. The coated copper salt does not scatter, so that it is easy to handle, and is superior in safety and workability. In addition, the copper salt does not suffer from any adverse influence on the inherent storage stability or antifouling effect by being coated. Therefore, a coating for the bottom of a ship having a superior antifouling effect and storage stability can be obtained.
