  Simple phenylselenenyl ketones, esters, nitriles, and sulfones were added to octene upon photolysis. These addition reactions illustrate that the process of carbon-carbon bond formation accompanied by phenylselenenyl transfer possesses more general applicability than has previously been demonstrated or suspected.
