should not be used to infer electron transfer in the hydride reductions of dihydronicotinamides. Of particular mention are the k/sub H//K/sub D/ and Y/sub H//Y/sub D/ values for the reaction (in acetonitrile) of N-methylacridinium ion with N-benzyl-1,4-dihydronicotinamide, N-benzyl-3-carbamoyl-4-dihydroquinoline, and N-aryl-1,4-dihydronicotinamides.
