The synthesis of carbonyled benzothiophenic derivatives at C-2 and C-3 has been developed through intermediate organolithium compounds with a view to subsequent cyclization as in benzothienopyridazines: benzothiophene-dialdehyde-2,3 ketone-aldehydes, acid-aldehydes and aldehyde-ketoneamides.
