(SiH3) (SiMeBut2) (1) containing one Si–Si single bond with Pt(dcpe) (PEt3)2 (dcpe = Cy2PCH2CH2PCy2) in the ratio of 1:1 leads to a stable disilanylplatinum hydride complex (SiH2) (SiMeBut2)}(H)– PtⅡ(dcpe) (2), which is one of the very few examples of bis(phosphine) (hydrido) platinum(Ⅱ) complexes bearing silyl ligands with Si–Si single bonds structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis

The reaction of (SiH3)(SiMeBu t 2) with [Pt(PEt3)4] and dcpe gave [Pt(SiH2)(SiMeBu t 2)}2(dcpe)] (dcpe=Cy2PCH2CH2PCy2), which has been structurally characterised by single-crystal X-ray analysis.
