Morita–Baylis–Hillman (MBH) reaction was developed. By mass spectrometric back‐reaction screening of quasi‐enantiomeric MBH products, an efficient bifunctional phosphine catalyst was identified that outperforms literature‐known catalysts in the MBH reaction of methyl acrylate with aldehydes.
