Novel azobenzothiazole dyes have been synthesized by condensation of 2-nitrosobenzothiazole and 6-nitro-2-nitrosobenzothiazole with aniline, anthranilic acid, 3-hydroxymethylaniline, 2-, 3- and 4-chloroaniline, 4-fluoroaniline, 4-iodoaniline or 4-nitroaniline.
