  (EN) A unitarily constructed toothbrush is provided including a head with bristles unitarily molded therewith, a handle and a neck, all being formed of an identical plastic material. Dispersed throughout the plastic material is at least one antimicrobial active co mpound such as a halogenated hydrocarbon, a quaternary ammonium salt or combinations thereof. Preferably the plastic material is a low density polyethylene. Toothbrushes of the present invention inhibit the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms thereby avoiding the possibility of infecting oral gums.(FR) L'invention concerne une brosse à dents formée d'un seul tenant. Cette brosse comprend une tête dans laquelle les poils sont directement moulés, un manche et un col, formés à partir d'un matériau plastique identique. Au moins un composé actif anti-microbien tel qu'un hydrocarbure halogéné, un sel d'ammonium quaternaire ou une combinaison de ces derniers sont dispersés dans ce matériau plastique. De préférence, le matériau plastique est un polyéthylène à faible densité. Les brosses à dents selon l'invention inhibent la croissance des bactéries et d'autres micro-organismes, ce qui empêche les risques d'infection des gencives.
