moieties, but methods for their preparation typically possess numerous inefficiencies. Presented here is a methodology for the two‐step, one pot preparation of unsymmetrical stilbenes via sequential Heck reactions. The first Heck reaction with ethylene gas was analysed as a function of temperature and pressure for electronically differentiated naphthyl bromides and model‐aided reaction optimization was utilized

1,2-Diarylethanes and 1,2-diarylethylenes can be oxidized directly to 1,2-diaryldiketones in good yields by reaction with benzeneseleninic anyhdride (BSA) at 120 °C in chlorobenzene.
Rhodium(I)-Catalyzed Reductive Cyclocarbonylation of Internal Alkynes: Atom-Economic Process for Synthesis of 2-Cyclopenten-1-ones, 5-Alkylidenefuran-2(5 H)-ones and Indan-1-ones

Economical atoms: 2‐Cyclopenten‐1‐ones, 5‐alkylidenefuran‐2(5H)‐ones and indan‐1‐ones have been synthesized by atom‐economic reductivecyclocarbonylation of internalalkynes with carbon monoxide catalyzed by [RhCl(CO)2}2]/CO(NH2)2 in the presence of water (see scheme).
Novel synthesis of π-conjugated molecules by cross-metathesis reaction of vinylferrocene with a series of vinylarenes was investigated with a molybdenum-based Schrock catalyst (CHCMe2Ph)Mo(N-2,6-i-Pr2C6H3)[OCMe(CF3)2]2. The cross-metathesis reactions occurred successfully and the cross-metathesis product, i.e., heterodimers, were readily obtained selectively, together with only small amounts of the corresponding self-dimers.
