  reaction and an intramolecular 6‐endo‐trig cyclization takes place in a regio‐ and stereoselective manner to provide arenopyrans. Interestingly, the reaction of arenethiols under the same conditions provided nitroallylic thioethers through a direct SN2 reaction.

  and stereoselective synthesis of thiopyran annulated indoles. It involves a base mediated cascade [3+3] annulation of indoline-2-thiones and nitroallylic acetates. The tetrahydrothiopyranoindoles which were formed in good yields and in a short reaction time could be easily transformed to triazole derivatives by taking advantage of the nitro group present in the skeleton.

  A continuous flow setup has been implemented for the enantioselective production of a library of pyranonaphthoquinones. This was possible through a sequential two-step process involving a squaramide-catalyzed Michael reaction and oxa-Michael cyclization. A key factor for the success of this methodology was the development of a new, cost-effective polystyrene-supported squaramide.
