  Die beanspruchten Kupplerkomponenten sind m-Phenylendiaminderivate der Formel (I) oder deren Ammonium-, Alkali- oder Erdalkalisalze. In Haarfärbemitteln beträgt der Einsatz einer Kombination aus den erfindungsgemäßen Kupplern und üblichen Entwicklersubstanzen 0,2-5 (1-3) Gew.-%. Die erzielten licht-, wasch- und reibechten Färbungen reichen von Rot- bis Dunkelbrauntönen. Die Kupplerverbindungen sind wasserlöslich, lagerstabil sowie toxikologisch und dermatologisch unbedenklich.
