Decarboxylation of various carboxylicacids, including ∝β- andamino acids, is performed by the photolysis of their benzophenoneoxime esters in isopropanol in the presence of t-butyl mercaptane,and corresponding decarboxylated products are obtained in goodyields under mild photolytic conditions.
