Abstract The reaction of [AgR] (R=2,4,6-C 6 F 3 H 2 , C 6 F 5 or C 6 Cl 5 ) with neutral ligands L (L=pyridine, 3-fluoropyridine, tetrahydrothiophene or 2,2′-bipyridyl) gives [Ag 2 R 2 L]. The same complexes are obtained by reaction of NBu 4 [AgR 2 ] with [AgL 2 ]ClO 4 . The 19 F NMR spectra suggest the presence of bridging perfluorophenyl groups and a tetranuclear structure is proposed.
