Nitrosylchloride (NOCl) reacts with RuCl3·xH2O in the presence of PPh3 in different alcohols leading to the formation of ammonium ions and [Ru(NO)Cl3(PPh3)2] under mild experimental conditions, through reductive deoxygenation.
