REDISTRIBUTION OF DICHLOROSILANES AND DIHYDRIDOSILANES. SYNTHESIS OF CHLORO HYDRIDOSILANES

The redistribution of dichlorosilanes RSi(CH3)Cl-2 and dihydridosilanes RSi(CH3)H-2, prepared by reduction of the homologues dichlorosilanes, in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt is presented. The influence of the nature of R (fluoroalkyl chain R(F)CH(2)CH(2) with R(F)=CF3, C4F9, C8F17, alkyl chain R=C6H13 or aromatic R=C6H5) and of the temperature on the rate of the reaction is studied. The equilibrium constants and free enthalpies are calculated and discussed taking into account the nature of R. The new products described were characterized from I.R, H-1, F-19 and Si-29 NMR spectroscopies.
Catalytic Synthesis of Functional Silicon-Stereogenic Silanes through<i>Candida antarctica</i>Lipase B Catalyzed Remote Desymmetrization of Silicon-Centered Diols
A series of silicon-containing diols are synthesized and used in lipase-catalyzed remote desymmetrization. This synthetic method is valuable in the construction of optically active silicon-stereogenic organosiliconcompounds. Good enantioselectivities of the remote desymmetrization was achieved with Candida antarctica lipase B (CAL-B) (up to 90:10er).

Fluorine-containing dialkoxysilanes. The formation of complexes with aminopropyltriethoxysilane and production of transparent films

Three dialkoxysilanes with fluorine-containing groups were synthesized: methyl(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)dimethoxysilane, methyl(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)silane, and methyl(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-trifluoromethylethoxymethyl)bis(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-trifluoro-methylethoxy)silane. It was found by IR and 29Si NMR spectroscopies that (3-aminopropyl)-triethoxysilane forms complexes with the indicated compounds, which are hydrolyzed in the presence of air moisture to form films of high optical quality.
