    The present invention is directed to a method of producing wear resistant traffic paint composition. In accordance with the method, a traffic marking of a traffic paint composition having low GPC number average molecular weight latex binder when applied to the road surface exhibits improved wear resistance over those traffic paint compositions having high GPC number average molecular weight latex binders. The wear resistance is further enhanced by modifying the latex polymer used in the composition with acetoacetyl functional pendant moiety and amino silane.

    The present invention relates to fast drying waterborne printing inks and to method of using such inks in high speed printing processes, such rotogravure and flexographic printing processes. The printing ink includes, for example, a blend of a latex binder and a polyfunctional amine. The pH of the ink is raised by adding a sufficient amount of base, to a point where essentially all of the polyfunctional amine in the blend is in a deprotonated state.

    The present invention is directed to traffic paint compositions, which dry faster than conventional waterborne traffic paints and to a method of producing traffic paint road markings made therefrom. The traffic paint composition of the present invention includes a blend of an anionically stabilized polymer binder, a polyfunctional amine polymer having an amine and an acid functionality therein and an amount of volatile base sufficient to raise the pH of the composition to a point where essentially all of the polyfunctional amine polymer is in a non-ionic state. The traffic paint composition of the present invention further provides improved storage stability.

    An aqueous composition is described. The composition comprises a film-forming latex polymer having anionic character ; a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer formed from at least about 20% by weight monomer containing amine functional groups ; and a volatile base in an amount effective to raise the pH of the composition to a point high enough where essentially all of the amine functional groups are in a nonionic state ; and optionally a water-soluble or water-dispersible multivalent metal. The composition provides an aqueous, quick-set noncementitious composition which is easily applied, develops early cohesive strength and leaves no waste under all curing conditions. The invention is particularly useful as an adhesive used in exterior insulating and finishing systems. The composition also provides an aqueous, exterior, quick-set coating composition having early washout resistance and dirt pick-up resistance. The invention is also particularly useful as a binder used in a traffic paint and as a base coat and/or top coat in exterior insulation finishing systems.

    The present invention provides a process for preparing substantially water-insoluble bile acid sequestrant polymers in particulate form, preferably in spherical form, the polymer particles whenever prepared by such process, and pharmaceutical compositions comprising such polymer particles. The polymer particles, which have a bile acid sequestering efficacy greater than that of cholestyramine, preferably greater than about three times the efficacy of cholestyramine, are prepared by crosslinking one or more amine-containing polymers with one or more polyfunctional amine-reactive compounds. Also disclosed is a method for lowering blood cholesterol level in a mammal comprising oral administration of the polymer particles to the mammal.
