At 25°, photolytically generated cyclopropylphenylcarbene affords phenylcyclobutene (63%, by ring expansion), phenylacetylene (16%, by fragmentation), and only traces (<3%) of the adduct to isobutene; at lower temperatures, however, the latter compound becomes the major product.
