Breathe easy as 1,2,3: A novel series of triazolecurcumins was designed and synthesized by introducing 1,2,3-triazole into the active methylene of curcumin. The generated dichloro-substituted phenyltriazole methyl curcumin effectively inhibited tumor cell proliferation and induced cell death against lungcancer cells both in vitro and in vivo, and may thus be a potential drug for the treatment of

A practical and efficient amidation reaction involving aromatic aldehydes and various azides under mild conditions is described. A broad spectrum of functional groups was tolerated, and the amides were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields, presenting an attractive alternative to the currently available synthetic methods.

Samarium(III) triflate-catalyzed [2+2+1] and [4+2] annulations have been identified for the preparation of fully substituted imidazoles and 2,3,5-trisubstituted pyridines from the readily available unactivatedaromaticalkenes and azidomethyl aromatics. These reactions proceeded smoothly with one- or two-nitrogen synthons to afford a range of two types of skeletally distinct N-heterocycles in good
A sequential multistep reaction toward 5-trifluoromethylthio-1,2,3-triazoles has been established, starting from alkynes, organoazides, S8, and (trifluoromethyl)trimethylsilane (TMSCF3). This reaction features mild conditions, easy operation, and readily available substrates.
