There is disclosed a herbicidal formulation comprising an aqueous liquid having suspended therein a multitude of solid microcapsules having a capsule wall of a porous condensate polymer of at least one of a polyurea, polyamide or amide-urea copolymer encapsulating clomazone wherein said clomazone is dissolved in a high boiling inert organic solvent, provided that the high boiling inert organic solvent is not an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, wherein 3 percent by weight to 15 percent by weight of the microcapsules is comprised of the said porous condensate polymer and a method of controlling vegetation using such formulation.
