  A method for producing trans-bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane includes a trans-isomerization step in which cis-dicyanocyclohexane is isomerized into trans-dicyanocyclohexane by heating dicyanocyclohexane containing cis-dicyanocyclohexane in the presence of a tar component produced by distillation of dicyanocyclohexane; and an aminomethylation step in which trans-dicyanocyclohexane produced by the trans-isomerization step is allowed to contact with hydrogen to produce trans-bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane.

  The present invention is to a polyurethane dispersion and products produced therefrom wherein the dispersion contains a polyurethane prepolymer produced from the a reaction of an excess of a polyisocyante with an isocyanate reactive molecule wherein the polyisocyante is a bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane.   The present invention provides two-component polyurethane compositions comprising, as one component, polyisocyanate compositions of the isocyanurate of one or more bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane or, preferably, a mixture of two or more of these, and of the isocyanurate of hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI trimer),and, as the other component, a mix of a soft polyol having a hydroxyl functionality of from 2.5 to 5.0 and a molecular weight of from 500 to 3,000, and a hard polyol.
