  Abstract From the subterranean stem of Aloe graminicola, a new pre-anthraquinone named prechrysophanol was isolated. Chrysophanol, helminthosporin, (R)-aloesaponol I, (R)-aloesaponol II, aloesaponarin I, aloesaponarin II and laccaic acid D methyl ester were also identified.
