carbene (NHC)–rhodium complex was prepared from chloromethyl polystyrene (CM PS) resin using a simple procedure. This polymer-supported NHC–rhodium complex was used as a catalyst for the addition of arylboronic acids to aldehydes affording arylmethanols in excellent yields.
