A palladium-catalyzed carboamination reaction of gamma-N-arylamino alkenes with vinyl bromides that affords N-aryl-2-allyl pyrrolidines is described. Herein reported is a dehydrative couplingreaction of alkyl amines with allylicalcohols promoted by co-operation of photoredox and palladium catalysts. A range of homoallylic amines are efficiently synthesized. A mechanistic study suggests that an in situ generated carboxylic acid activates an allylicalcohol to facilitate its oxidative addition onto palladium.
