Homo-coupling reactions of an alkenyl- or arylsilane readily occur with a copper(I) salt in an aprotic polar solvent such as N, N-dimethylformamide or dimethyl sulfoxide under an aerobic condition to give the corresponding conjugated dienes or biaryls, respectively.
