conditions in dry dimethyl sulfoxide was investigated. The reaction of pentafluoropyridine with toluenesulfonylmethyl isocyanide (TosMIC) was less selective, but the reactions of other isocyanides with pentafluoropyridine gave the desired 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-N-substituted isonicotinamide.
