    On the Concept of Hemilability: Insights into a Donor-Functionalized Iridium(I) NHC Motif and Its Impact on Reactivity
    摘要:
    Novel iridium(I) complexes bearing N-donor-functionalized N-heterocyclic carbene ligands were synthesized. Although hemilabile coordination of the attached donor is considered beneficial in catalysis, no detailed study of this phenomenon in these systems is available to date. The present report provides insight into the hemilabile bonding properties of a N,N'-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-imidazolylidene (NCN) ligand motif on iridium(I). In most cases, the presented compounds exhibit rare fluxional hemilabile coordination of the N donor, and remarkable performance in catalytic transfer hydrogenation is observed. Further, extensive reactivity studies often led to unexpected products.

    fluorescence studies, the complexes develop emission bands in the visible region (400–600 nm) after excitation at around 350 nm. Au complex–DNA binding was studied, and it was observed that genomic DNA isolated from the U373‐GB cell line was fragmented and in some cases degraded by the Au complexes. Furthermore, the intensity of the DNA band increased when concentration of the metal complex was augmented

    This invention relates to silicone compositions which can be crosslinked, preferably into elastomers, by hydrosilylation of at least one PolyOrganoSiloxane -A- carrying unsaturated bonds, using at least one polyorganohydrosiloxane —B— in the presence of a carbene-based metal catalyst —C— as defined in the description and which optionally comprises at least one inhibitor -D- of the hydrosilylation reaction.

  • Helical mono and dinuclear mercury(II) N-heterocyclic carbene complexes

    A series of mono and dicationic carbene precursors have been synthesized. Reactions of these precursors with Hg(OAc)(2) produce helical mononuclear and dinuclear mercury(II) carbene complexes. Five structures, including two ligand precursors and three mercury(II) carbene complexes have been analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Several intermediates have been identified during the course of reaction. Based on these observed intermediates, three different reaction pathways have been proposed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
