  Fungicidal substituted triazolylmethylcarbinols of the formula ##STR1## in which n stands for the numbers 0 or 1, Ar stands for optionally substituted phenyl or for optionally substituted naphthyl, R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted alkinyl, optionally substituted aralkyl, cycloalkyl or optionally substituted heteroarylalkyl, R.sup.2 stands for alkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl or alkenyl, R.sup.3 stands for methyl and R.sup.4 stands for methyl or R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together stand for ethane-1,2-diyl, and addition products thereof with acids and metal salts. Intermediates of the formulas ##STR2## in which R.sup.6 stands for alkyl having more than one carbon atom, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl or alkenyl, are also new.
