The assay device of the invention is based on the polymorphic variants of the XPD gene at exon 23 (A-C, Lys 751 Gln) and at exon 10 (G-A, Asp312Asn) and on the development of specific primers which allow detecting said polymorphisms by PCR or by means of automatic DNA sequencing.
