  The invention relates to new carbamyloxybenzhydrol derivatives of the formula (1) wherein R1 is hydrogen, halogen, trihalomethyl, alkyl having from one to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy having from one to 4 carbon atoms; R2 is hydrogen or an R3-NH-COO- group; R3 is alkyl having from one to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having up to 7 carbon atoms, or phenyl, optionally substituted with one or more halogen(s). The compounds of the formula (I) show antilipaemic activity and can therefore be used in therapy for treating hyperlipaemia and coronary diseases. Pharmaceutical compositions containing them as active ingredient are also within the scope of the invention.
