  Reaction of fluorotris(trimethylsilyl)methane and aldehydes is catalyzed by KF/18-Cr-6 to give 1,3-disubstituted 2-fluoro-2-propen-1-ols in one pot. On the other hand, Sn-Li exchange of bis(trimethylsilyl)fluoro(tributyl stannyl)methane with BuLi and subsequent treatment with an aldehyde afforded 1-fluoroalkenyitrimethylsilanes in moderate to good yields.
