Photoredox Catalysis for Silyl‐Mediated C–H Alkylation of Heterocycles with Non‐Activated Alkyl Bromides

A new protocol for the Minisci C–H alkylation of heteroarenes using the widely available and structurally diverse pool of unactivated alkyl bromides mediated by photoredox catalysis have been developed. This transformation proceeds under mild conditions to provide numerous primary, secondary and tertiary products, including analogs of currently approved therapeutics.
A practically useful approach for the cross-dehydrogenativecoupling of quinazolin-4-one with simple nonactivated alkanes is reported. The products were smoothly formed under mild reaction conditions, within short reaction time at ambient temperature. The formation of new Csp3-Csp2 bonds occurred at the electron-poor C-2 position of quinazolin-4-one. The approach has the potential to be an important
