The interactions of sodium salts of 2-mercaptobenzoxazole, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole with (chloromethyl)trimethyl-, chloromethyl(dimethoxy)methylor (chloromethyl)trimethoxysilanes have been shown to result in the corresponding previously unknown (2-heterylthiomethyl)triorganylsilanes.
