the direct phosphonylation of alkyl bromides with red phosphorus in the superbase system KOH/H2O/toluene/phasetransfer catalyst, a one‐pot method for the synthesis of alkylphosphonic acids has been developed. Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide has been successfully used as a micellar phasetransfer catalyst, a carrier of superbasic hydroxide anions.
