A series of 5,5′-functionalized 2,2′-(ortho-carboranyl)bisthiophene with bromo, vinyl, trimethylsilylethyne, N-methylpyrrole or thienyl groups was synthesized and all compounds were characterized by NMR, MS, and X-ray analysis.
