A novel Pd catalyst was designed by affording Pd2+ salt on the surface of functional reduced graphene oxide (FRGO), providing a new cheap and stable in situ prepared palladiumcatalyst for C–C coupling reactions, including the Heck reaction, Suzuki reaction, C–H bond functionalization reactions of thiophenes, and terminal alkyne C–H activation and homocoupling.
Selective β-Arylation of Thiophenes with Aryl Iodides Catalyzed by Dinuclear Palladium Carboxylate Complexes

Novel dinuclear palladium complexesbearing acetoxy ligands were synthesized and characterized by X‐ray crystal analysis. The complexes were utilized for the arylation of 2‐ethylthiophene with iodobenzene to give ethylphenylthiophenes with high β selectivity. The β‐arylation was also applied to a variety of iodoarenes and thiophenes, except those bearing conjugated carbonyl substituents.
Palladium/2,2′-bipyridyl/Ag2CO3 catalyst for C–H bond arylation of heteroarenes with haloarenes

Pd/bipy-based catalytic system for the C–Hbondarylation of heteroarenes with haloarenes is described. The complex PdBr2(bipy)·DMSO, whose structure was unambiguously determined by X-ray crystallography, turned out to be a generalcatalyst precursor for the process. The reaction is applicable to a range of electron-rich five-membered heteroarenes, such as thiophenes, thiazoles, benzofurans, and indoles
