Gold(I)-catalyzed cross-couplingreactions of aryldiazonium salts with organostannanes are described. This redox neutral strategy offers an efficient approach to diverse biaryls, vinyl arenes and arylacetylenes. Copper-catalyzed arylstannylation of arynes has been developed. This transformation enables variously substituted ortho-stannylbiaryls and teraryls to be constructed straightforwardly. An electron-deficient tin center is the key, and thus the single or dual insertion of arynes into arylstannanes is precisely controllable by simply changing the equivalence of aryne precursors.
A palladium–iminophosphine complex was found to catalyze the homocoupling reaction of alkynylstannanes using allyl acetate as an oxidant, whereas aryl- and alkenylstannanes were oxidatively homocoupled with air.
