    In a process for hydrogenating at least one organic compound, the organic compound or compounds is/are brought into contact with a hydrogen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst which comprises, as active metal, ruthenium either alone or together with at least one further metal of transition group I, VII or VIII of the Periodic Table applied to a support material based on amorphons silicon dioxide and is obtainable by: i) a single or multiple treatment of a support material based on amorphous silicon dioxide with a halogen-free aqueous solution of a low molecular weight ruthenium compound and subsequent drying of the treated support material at below 200° C., ii) reduction of the solid obtained in i) by means of hydrogen at from 100 to 350° C., with step ii) being carried out directly after step i).

The invention further provides a method for forming a planographic printing plate having: ejecting the ink composition onto a hydrophilic recording medium by using an ink jet recording apparatus; and irradiating the ejected ink composition so as to cure the ink composition for forming a hydrophobic region, and a planographic printing plate obtained thereby.

    A magnet wire comprises a conductor having thereon an outermost insulating wire enamel layer, either directly or over another insulating layer. The wire enamel consists essentially of a polyamideimide wherein one or both ends of at least one polyamideimide molecule is a terminal linear alkyl group having at least 21 carbon atoms. The magnet wire has a high resistance to refrigerant as well as to thermal or mechanical damage and has a high lubricity.

    Disclosed is a crosslinked polyester for a toner, and a process for its manufacture wherein the polyester has an acid value of 5 to 20 mgKOH/g, a flow index of 0.1 x 10⁻⁴ to 300 x 10⁻⁴ ml/sec and softening point lower than 145°C, the polyester being formed by mixing a dicarboxylic acid component, a diol component and at least one crosslinking component selected from a polyfunctional carboxylic acid component having a trivalency or a higher valency and a polyhydric alcohol component having a trivalency or a higher valency at a mixing ratio represented by the following formula (1), reacting the mixture at a reaction ratio represented by the following formula (2) and subjecting the esterification product to polycondensation and crosslinking. 0.8 ≦ R ≦ 1 + 5a      (1) 0.7 ≦ P ≦ [R/(1 + a)]1/2      (2) wherein R is the ratio of the mole number of the total alcohol components to the mole number of the total acid components, a is the ratio of the sum of the mole number of the polyvalent carboxylic acid component and the mole number of the polyhydric alcohol component to the mole number of the total acid components, and P is the conversion of the carboxylic acid components. A toner comprising this crosslinked polyester as the binder has an excellent offset-preventing property, low-temperature fixing property and blocking resistance and good charging characteristics with a high moisture resistance, and gives a copied image having good sharpness and image density.
