    Aerobic oxidative α-arylation of furans with boronic acids via Pd(II)-catalyzed C–C bond cleavage of primary furfuryl alcohol provides sustainable access to arylfurans. This α-arylation protocol opens a new avenue for the transformation of readily available furans into other useful compounds.

    The present invention provides an aromatic amine compound as represented by formula (1) for improving the light extraction efficiency and color purity of an organic light-emitting element, an organic light-emitting element material containing the aromatic amine compound, a covering layer material of organic light-emitting element, and an organic light-emitting element. The organic light-emitting element provided by the present invention can achieve high luminous efficiency and color reproducibility. The organic light-emitting element of the present invention can be used for an organic EL display, a backlight source of a liquid crystal display, illumination, light sources for gauges, a sign board, a marker light, etc. The present invention provides an organic light-emitting element having greatly improved light extraction efficiency and excellent color purity.

    By the catalytic use of a rhenium(I) nitrogen complex, [ReCl(N2)(PMe2Ph)4], α-keto radicals are generated from α-bromo ketones and react with vinyl ethers and silyl enol ethers intermolecularly. Various substituted furans, including tetrasubstituted furans such as furoguaiacin, are prepared by this method.

    The present invention provides a novel aromatic amine derivative having a specific structure and an organic electroluminescence device in which an organic thin film layer comprising a single layer or plural layers including at least a light emitting layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode, wherein at least one layer in the above organic thin film layer, particularly a hole transporting layer contains the aromatic amine derivative described above in the form of a single component or a mixed component. Use of the aromatic amine derivative described above materialize an organic electroluminescence device which reduces an operating voltage and makes molecules less liable to be crystallized and which enhances a yield in producing the organic EL device and has a long lifetime.
