Co2(CO)6(SC6X5)2 instead of Fe2(CO)6S2, is described. A difference has been found between the chemical behaviour of the Fe2(CO)6(SR)2 and Co2(CO)SR)2 compounds, and is discussed in the light of the different fragmentation patterns in the mass spectra. A qualitative explanation based on the different electronic configurations is suggested.
