Stable and isolable silanols with various aromatic substituents (e. g., naphthyl or phentanthrenyl) were obtained by hydrolysis of alkoxy- and chlorosilanes. The resulting compounds exhibit strong hydrogen bonds both in solution and in the solid-state.
