The treatment of carbonyl compounds with the organotitanium species formed from methoxybis(phenylthio)methane and low valent titanium species Cp2Ti[P(OEt)3]2 gave 1-alkenyl ethers in good yields. 1-Alkenyl sulfides were also obtained by the similar reaction using triphenyl trithioorthoformate. Preparation of allylsilanes by the olefination of carbonyl compounds using β-silylthioacetals
Titanocene(II)-promoted olefination of various carbonyl compounds using 1,1-bis(phenylthio)-2-triorganosilylethanes gave allylsilanes in good yields. γ-Alkoxy and alkylthio group substituted allylsilanes were also obtained by using carboxylic esters and thiolesters, respectively.
The reaction of thiolesters with titanocene alkylidenes prepared by the treatment of thioacetals with the low valent titanium species Cp2Ti[P(OEt)3]2 produced the corresponding alkenyl sulfides in good yields with moderate to good Z stereoselectivity.
