Amidation of a variety of hydrocarbons with PhI=NTs catalyzed by ruthenium and manganese meso-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrins 1 and 2 afforded N-substituted amides in up to 92% yields with good to excellent substrate conversions.
