We report herein that thermodynamic and kineticisomerization of alkenes can be accomplished by the combination of visible light with Co catalysis. Utilizing Xantphos as the ligand, the most stable isomers are obtained, while isomerizing terminal alkenes over one position can be selectively controlled by using DPEphos as the ligand. The presence of the donor–acceptor dye 4CzIPN accelerates the reaction

novel rhodium-catalyzed allylic substitution reaction using indium organometallics is reported. Aryl- and heteroarylindium reagents reacted in THF at 80 °C with primary and secondary allyl halides and their derivatives under rhodium(I) catalysis to afford the α-substituted products in good yields and with high regio- and stereoselectivity. The reaction takes place with substoichiometric amounts of

The stereochemistry of the reaction of π-allylpalladiumcomplexes with nucleophiles has been elucidated using optically active (–)-(1S,2R,3R)-di-µ-chloro-bis(1-methyl-3-phenyl-π-allyl)dipalladium(II); dimethyl sodiomalonate and dimethylamine attack a carbon atom of the π-allyl ligand from the side opposite to the palladium (inversion), and phenyl and allyl Grignard reagents attack the π-allyl carbon
Polysilane-supported Pd and Pt catalysts have been prepared for the first time, and used successfully in hydrogenation, Suzuki and Sonogashira reactions, and hydrosilylation respectively: the reactions proceeded in high yields, and the catalysts could be recovered almost quantitatively by simple filtration and reused.
